If you use Reader on an Android-based e-ink device, such as a Boox or Daylight, you should find the overall experience to be better optimized, including better black on white contrast and reduced animations.

Your newly uploaded PDFs now come with a much higher quality rich text version, as well as auto-fixed titles & authors.

Read, highlight, and listen to PDFs as if they were any other reflowable document.

No more squinting or pinching to zoom!

Previously, Reader treated books like really long articles. Now the app smartly loads one chapter at a time, leading to a huge speed up ⚡️

The reading experience is also completely transformed, closer to other ebook apps. If you've ever tried a book, it's worth trying again :)

Yes, we released Readwise in 2017 and Reader in 2022. Readwise (readwise.io) collects highlights and Reader (read.readwise.io) collects documents.

Hey Leah! We ask for a book title to make sure you get the most out of Readwise. Without highlights, the app might not work well during the trial. You can add 3 books and you'll get past the sync page.

Just so you know, Readwise helps you review key takeaways, while Reader organizes web content.
