In one of my EdD courses we had a whole week on how using AI to create everything for curriculum and instruction is the new norm. My self reflection section on the assignment was 5 pages of ranting about the inaccuracies in the YouTube videos that were our “instructional content” for the week 🫠

Yep, that’s definitely one of them my students use a lot. We also purchase ScopusAI and Web of Science Research Assistant at my university. When students say “Oh I used ChatGPT for blah blah research” I redirect to things with more controlled evidence-based content that’s up to date.

I base it on what data it’s pulling from, what it’s fx is, & amount of time used. Ethically there is no way to use them. There’s also no way to ethically use a computer if we’re being real about energy consumption & global impacts. I go for limited use & specific fx over broad use & crappy data.

I have a visceral reaction when people say “AI won’t take your job, someone who knows how to use it will.” Because that is 100% not what will happen and those people clearly have never met a CEO, COO, CFO, or literally anyone in administration if they actually believe that.

My boss put something into Gemini to find supporting articles for a statement and it made up 2 entire citations using pieces of real citations. But yeah, definitely should lean all in on these things 😅
