I have a horrid time actually updating anything, I know. Just came on to share that I am reading the most delightfully cute and funny romance; My Roommate is a Vampire by Jenna Levine. It’s everything romance should be.

In January I read 26 books. 4 print, 11 audio, and 11 digital.
I had a wild amount of 5 star reads this month, there were 3 five star reads. That's a lot for me.

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes
The Eyes are the Best Part by Monika Kim (comes out June 25!)
and
Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult

Just finished the short story Helpmeet by Naben Ruthnum. It’s about a woman whose husband has a disease that’s eating him alive and so she takes him to his childhood home. It wasn’t great, personally, and the writing style was bad. 1.5/5.

Just finished the NOS4A2 audiobook by Stephen Kings oldest son Joe Hill. While I love King, I didn't vibe with Hill's work ( I never have really). It's about a woman who can traverse between real and imaginary worlds and a man who kidnaps children to take them to Christmasland. 2/5.

Last night I was up in pain for hours, so I decided to put my heart through the wringer and finish Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It was cute, wholesome, bittersweet and heartbreaking. 5/5 read, first of the year.

Second read of the year was an audiobook. Also started it in December, finished it today. Let Him In by William Friend. It’s about twins who have an imaginary friend that appears after their mother’s death. This was my first low rating of the year. 2/5 stars.

My first read of the year is Girl, Alone by Blake Pierce. I started this in December and finished it yesterday. This is the first of 21 books in a series, and this book is currently free on kindle. It is about a behavioral investigations agent joining the hunt for a serial killer.

Just sayin'... Books are an excellent gift.
(And if you've read Here in the Dark and wanna drop a review somewhere, that's a gift to me! ❤️)
