#Reading today: BRIGHT LIGHTS AND SUMMER NIGHTS by Shauntay Grant (Zach Manbeck, illus). A light-filled picture book that whirls readers into luminous dreams. Magical illustrations, particularly the "Country fair and carousel" spread. Wow!

#Reading today: HELIOTROPIA by Manahil Bandukwala. Like sunflowers, these poems are smart and tough and optimistic. I particularly loved the sequence "Space Opera." A joy-affirming collection!
