I'm So Done

A sarcastic, curious, Midwestern-born-&-raised weirdo happily living in the more temperate PNW. I love bad movies, good books, food & travel. LGBT+ ally. BLM. Mental health is health. Abortion is healthcare. Solidarity!
Oh baby, this Galactic Abyss Porter at McMeniman's is delicious. Prost!

My favorite local Mexican food truck crew put up some holiday decorations. I respect their minimalist approach, because their food more than makes up for it. !Feliz Navidad! 🎅

If you want to go shopping this weekend, shop local. I shopped very local, hitting up the native art market at the Duwamish Longhouse. It was busy, and everyone was in good spirits. I knew I'd find stuff with my beloved corvids!

I got some brain food at the library today!

This is my favorite spooky season yard display of the weekend. I got in a brief walk before our epic rainfall and wind storm.

There's no rule that says someone in their 40s can't enjoy dinosaur shaped cookies. If there is, I'm breaking it. I had a long day.

I'm starting to think every homeowner in Seattle is legally bound to display these skeletons in their yards, and a lot of them figure there's no need to only put them out around Halloween. This was my favorite one on my walk today.

I will never get tired of this movie. Everyone is great in it, and the fire effects are still awesome. "You go, we go!!"

I hope this handbook was given to the troops occupying Portland. Some of the trees are definitely Antifa, and possibly nonbinary.

I saw these very Seattle crow stickers on my walk today. I also saw a lot of real crows getting into mischief, as they do. Spooky season needs its mascots!

Friday is my day off, and I treated myself to lunch and a couple beers at Six Arms, one of my fave pubs in Seattle. This sticker has been in the women's restroom for a long time, and I love it. Be your own beautiful, awesome selves! 💕

I lived in Minneapolis for many years, & I love coming back to visit friends, favorite restaurants & stores. Today I stopped by Glam Doll Donuts & the best bookstore in Uptown, Magers & Quinn. I got this cheesy MN souvenir. Booooo! You betcha! And the weather was perfect. 😍

I spied this cool wreath on a walk today. It appears to be made out of slices of real mushrooms/fungi.

It is indeed Friday.

Things are hard right now. They've been hard for a while. So many of you awesome people on this platform bring a smile to my face and/or make me think about things in a different way. Thank you. Keep doing what you do.

In honor of the demise of CPB/PBS, and the years of education and joy it gave this rural poor kid with big dreams of the wider world, I'm wearing my Reading Rambo tee shirt today.

I don't know if this will achieve anything, but hello people in the Waterloo, WI area, particularly anyone who has a PO box there! The handmade Mother's Day gift I sent to my mom has gone missing. If you took it, whether accidentally or on purpose, please give it back to the post office. Thanks! ✌️

I got a new cute little friend at SeaTac airport! How could I say no? And, yes, they will be joining a few other aliens at home.

I haven't read this one since 1999, & I remember thinking then how weird and scary the thought of fascism happening in the US would be. Rereading it now I feel a mix of numbness & exhaustion, but I'm more inspired to fight back.

A rare sight here in Seattle: puffy, cotton ball clouds. Happy spring!
