Had planned to start my re-read of Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower today. My first introduction to Octavia Butler was in a science fiction lit class at Penn State in ~1994 (thanks prof Youngquist). 100 pages in and this felt timely: www.axios.com/2025/02/01/o...

My Fitbit just buzzed and said it recognized a 16 minute swim. Bitch, I’m in my PJs on the couch looking for anything to give me hope for the next (2)4 years. I suppose that could be considered a form of swimming. Upstream, in a polluted river that’s probably been renamed.

Good luck to us all tomorrow and in all the days that follow. If I see the words ‘divi filius’ on a (meme)coin, I’m out of here.

These fellas like to sit in my neighbors chimney and watch my TV through the window (don’t be fooled, it was full dark when I took this from inside my living room). We’re binging Bad Sisters.

My grammar school had a “cafe” that sold tomato soup with a fresh bread roll for 50p (late 80s). I think about those bread rolls a lot.
