Last night was so, so good. Critical Role live show is everything I hoped it would be and more. No spoilers because "or else".

An Easter argument I enjoy. Happy bunny day, everyone.

Liches often have the power of necromancy, which allow them to bring the dead back to life.

The Caesar salad, interestingly, was not named for Julius. It was named for Caesar Cardini who created it at his Tijuana restaurant, Caesar's, in 1924.

Caesar's adopted son, Octavius, had been named his sole heir. Octavius heard of his father's death and returned to Rome, becoming Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus, or Octavian. Octavian would go on to become Emperor Augustus in 27 BCE.

Historians, unfortunately, tell us that despite their intentions his death was the beginning of the Roman Empire period, and the death of the Roman Republic.

The last words of Julius Caesar are disputed, with some saying he said nothing, others saying he said, in Latin, "You too, my son?" The most famous of them is, of course, from Shakespeare who claims them to be, "Et tu, Brute?" meaning "And you, Brutus?"

The assasination of Caesar was done by members of the senate. People he knew and was even friendly with.

Shakespeare took his turn with this in "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar"and attributed to that seer (now a soothsayer) the phrase, "Beware the Ides of March".

According to Greek Historian and philosopher Plutarch, Caesar had been warned by a seer that he would be harmed on the Ides. That day he saw the seer again saying basically, "Well the ides are here" implyign he was fine, to which the seer replied, "Yes, here but not yet gone".

Interestingly, it was the day set aside for the payment of taxes, rent, and other bills accumulated. This is seen today in our American Tax Day being on the 15th, and on some places collecting rent that day, paying out paychecks the 15th, etc.
