#FuneralforDemocracy Spokane, August 23. Mourning for so many things Trump and his minions, including local Congressman Michael Baumgartner, have broken. The coffin was filled with notes calling attention to all the ways Republican policies hurt Americans and delivered to Baumgartner's office.

@timmiller.bsky.social asked @marcelias.bsky.social
if he agreed with Tulsi Gabbard that his reluctance to post on X meant he was panicking. Here's the answer he wished he'd given after he watched her complete statement and thought about it.

Here I am with a friend at the Hands Off the VA and Thank You Veterans rally outside our VA hospital in Spokane. There was a pretty good turnout. We started by taking cookies, treats and thank you cards inside to be shared among the staff for all they do.

This idea is nauseating. American citizenship is not a commodity to enrich TV producers and advertisers. That kind of money could house and educate hundreds of desperate, deserving immigrants and prepare them for life as American citizens. It just wouldn't entertain the MAGA masses.

#BookSky Just finished the most mind-blowing book I've read in the last couple years. "James", by Percival Everett, is a re-imagination of the story of Huck Finn, told from the perspective of Jim, the enslaved person who accompanies Huck down the Mississippi River.

Appreciation for Washington, DC Episcopal Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde for her gentle words of challenge to a President who has displayed a remarkable lack of empathy for people who do not look or think like him. And shame on all those who have criticized and even threatened her.
