You cannot count on Trump’s America as your friend. Deal with him at your peril. Seek alliances that do not include the US. Governments should have been developing contingency plans for this over the past three months. If they haven’t, they have failed their people.

A decisive psychological shift needs to occur in global foreign relations: the US is not our ally. They are not our enemy, but we no longer share the same values. Regardless of their size, that’s how we should treat them: one voice among many.

News outlets getting in a lather about Trump’s EO about the ICC need to bear in mind the US has never ratified the ICC, so like most things he says and does it’s irrelevant hot air. But once again, due to gullible media, he’s hit the headline he wanted.

So after meeting Bibi today, Trump has just confirmed he wants to see Gaza ethnically cleansed, all Palestinians who were born or lived there before Oct 7, 2023, removed from the land that has been theirs for thousands of years, presumably give Israel a blank slate to build new settlements there.
