And second, what happens as you simulate movement at and past c?

Isn’t the structure that the photons must arrive at the “same time” more and more constraining and artificial the closer the object gets to c? The odd geometry of measuring a moving thing with a moving thing-in order to get a sharp image, you have to constrain in ways that conflict with intuition?

It seems there’s a stack of issues that added up to that swing: www.star-telegram.com/opinion/bud-... I think it’s an opportunity to study the cracks in the R coalition and a cause for hope. But not one for complacency, as the other commenter said, because not all the factors scale elsewhere.

I can think of at least 2 or 3 ways a state level actor could subvert that, and we don’t necessarily want every image to be attributed. Nor will every source be signed. But the problems look closer to solved than I thought this afternoon?

I thought someone should be working on that, and it seems like C2PA is the thing that has buy-in, both from camera manufacturers and software vendors (eg Adobe)? It uses CAs, and relies on hardware keys for chain of trust from the camera.

There’s an interesting wide-ranging discussion here about threat models, hardware vs software image generation, scalability, business models and regulation. But what’s the problem we’d be solving? Taking a guess at the response to that, what does it mean for an image to be true?

If true, the closest analogy would be the car. We did revamp society around cars, and they take a lot to maintain. But your point and others’ stands that what would we do with robots that is as valuable as a car? If it fills many of the needs and functions as “spouse”, maybe? How sad.
