This week, President Joe Biden met with North Carolina leaders, including Gov. Roy Cooper, at the White House to discuss federal support for the recovery from Hurricane Helene.
Biden has requested a total of $100 billion from Congress to support the recovery effort from Helene and Hurricane Milton.

The Republican supermajority in the General Assembly has overridden Gov. Roy Cooper’s veto of HB 10, which includes a vast expansion of the state’s private school voucher program.

Each year on Veterans Day/Armistice Day, I think about by great grandfather, Edison Chapman, who fought in World War I.

He continuously saw his health deteriorate, and died two decades later, in part because of his experience in The Great War.
