What am I doing wrong?
Last week I was in France again and I very much enjoyed little conversations in French. I also very much enjoyed the food, and on my way to the train back I stopped by a bakery to buy some delicious items for during my train ride.

The IMS ICSDS conference is nice so far! Nice seems a nice place. I just love the smoke-free beaches! It takes the single reason away that I normally hate being at the Mediterranean coast. The session on e-values today was super nice! Grünwald, Chloe, Ren and Fisher. Barber's keynote was also great!

Arrived in Nice for a conference on statistics. I was on only three trains! 7.47 Leiden - Rotterdam (local train), R'dam - Paris Eurostar, little walk to Gare de Lyon, Paris- Nice 20.03 TGV, little walk to the hotel.

Wie wil er laminaat (licht houtpatroon) en/of tapijttegels (groen/blauw) overnemen? Het lag in onze flat met de onderstaande plattegrond in spiegelbeeld; laminaat in keuken + woonkamer + hal, en tapijt in beide slaapkamers. Laminaat inclusief plinten en hoogste graad geluiddempende ondervloer.

There are some nice creatures in the forest. On Tuesday I saw a slowworm. Quite rare in NL, although the biggest Dutch population is here at the Veluwe.

This week was the yearly meeting of Dutch Stochasticians in Lunteren. Inspiring talks, lots of time for social interaction, and some walks in the forest.

Vaak wordt beweerd dat de PVV sociaal-economisch links is. Dat ze een wensenlijstje in hun verkiezingsprogramma hebben staan met o.a. verhoging van het minimumloon, wekt echter een valse indruk. De PVV stemde het afgelopen jaar op die kwesties rechtser dan de VVD.

Baby Meindert (bijna 6 weken oud nu) kreeg een mooi cadeau van goede vriend. Hij is theoloog, en Blaise Pascal was voor onze beider vakgebieden een belangrijke figuur.

Every election it feels more important than ever to vote. Here is my attempt to keep NL inclusive for refugees, lhtbiq+, Muslims, disabled, and whoever needs the right to be who they want. For strong climate action, and for equal opportunities. I hope many do the same today.
