The unmarked cars, the men in masks, being whisked away to an unknown location, no due process—all of it is being done to shut us up. The number of deportations has not gone up. It’s the spectacle and who is being targeted that have changed.

Just finished “reading” (Audible) Murakami’s latest novel (expanded on a novella he wrote 40 years earlier) and am enthralled by his work. The simplicity of his style belies the complexity of his ideas. I’ve only read one other (1Q84). Gonna have to start an author study. #bookrec #murakami
