But a strong type system saves me a lot of tests that I would have to write in Python as unit or behaviour tests, just to overcome the unpredictable behaviour (at least for me) of this language. 4/4

Then, you can test for left/right identity and assicioativity properties. This gives a good basis for reasoning and a lot of confidence in the code.
This is mostly not (business) logic, what is tested here. For logic, I used good old TDD. 3/4

And property-testing complements that well for stuff you cannot catch with a type system. e.g. something like "flatMap" for Option: You can deduce the implementation more or less completely from the type declaration and the parameter and return types. 2/4

II know more about Scala, a bit about Haskell and nothing about Rust. Types don't test behaviour. But sum and product types and a strong type system can guide you pretty much through an implementation. Especially, when the function is on a high abstraction level. 1/4

Thierry, this is a genuine question. Do you have a pointer to this research, possibly peer-reviewed? It would help in a lot of discussions.

So, if you want to ride a Mercedes or BMW SUV, you have to swallow higher prices probably - inside and outside the US.

Concerning SUVs, BMW is building the huge majority of its SUVs for the international market in Spartanburg. Mercedes has already a considerable part of it sSUV production in Tuscaloosa and will move most of their line to the US until 2027.

I am not an expert either. I was just repeating what went through the press today here in Germany.

For big manufacturers it makes it more likely to move production capacities to the US. In the medium term 10% of jobs - or up to 70.000 - in German and European car industry might be affected.

According to Dudenhöffer, BMW and Mercedes production hubs can still produce (mainly SUVs) in the States and export them to Europe without extra costs like retaliatory tariffs.

As Ferdinand Dudenhöfer, one of the leading experts in the automotive industry puts it: "[...] super deal for German car industry. Less positive for jobs in the German automotive industry. The workers in the car and supplier industries are the ones losing out."

Any hint to a proof or study. For most of the employees, labour laws, including notice periods a a good thing. They never hindered me when changing a job.
