every once in a while i play a team that makes me feel as old & mediocre as i am. just a track meet from start to finish. 2.2 miles on a 7v7 field is not easy to do. i did not pass well under pressure, but i did have a couple of near miss golazos. we lost 2 - 0 and that feels like an accomplishment.

goddamn cars parking in bike lanes.

sure, my kid’s costume proved to be too heavy for the three hours of trick or treating, but some other fad manning a front stoop appreciated the sheer quantity of hot glue and poured me a beer. i love my neighborhood so damn much.

this is what happens when i let my kid go wild in cities: skylines. over a third of our operating budget is now trains. he has built them into elaborate loops that we have to figure out how to actually run lines on.

here have a picture of my cat, who doesn’t understand why we’re up watching baseball but is happy for the extra innings of snuggles.

making’ it real, one hot glue burn and box cutter slip at a time.

at least the grueling build of my kid’s halloween costume has given me the opportunity to actually design something again, and better yet, to not use solidworks to do it.

pleased that somebody improved on our halloween decorations.

our block of the south end eerily alone without power until 0330 apparently. something really complicated must have broken under columbus ave.

father and son matching AT-ATs. his is better and he built it first, then demanded i also make one, and obviously i made it boring and gray.

fun fact: he’s never even seen star wars but he remembered it from ‘rise of the resistance’ (which he thinks is real) and built it for me. #lego

it’s 2025. major league baseball could figure out a way to charge me $5 to watch a playoff game on a friday night or they could give me this highly understandable wall of text.

look at how beautifully and mathematically fucked the taper on my old crank arm is.

if he insists that everything we build winds up in the bathtub, may as well go in style.

it was doubleheader day. we won 8-0 and lost 2-4. in the second we straight up gifted them three goals. it was hot and we were tired? i don’t know honestly. i do know that we didn’t get enough runners up and couldn’t hold the ball. i played fine, positioned really well, played the ball clean.
