In language use, the receiver can never exactly know the sender’s language, but they can mediate it. Knowing the history of a sender’s language a priori leads to better mediation.

For any data to have meaning, it must be a part of a strategy which focuses on a given action. There is no such thing as data-driven decisions (there is no magic data that tells you what to do); it is about humans using the data to act. Without the action the data becomes just an act of curiosity.

Science’s predictions are limited to what we can systematically observe (senses and sensors) and tractably model (interpret).
