Iatrogenic airway obstruction is common. Let the patient have a go.”

Brilliantly delivered with a strong emphasis on hands-on learning, it was an valuable experience for anyone wanting to brush up on paediatric anaesthesia and emergency care.

If you fail direct laryngoscopy in an infant <5kg what is your plan?

In this study, first attempt success was 43% with videolaryngoscopy and 62% with flexible bronchoscopy.

We listen, we don’t judge, paeds anaesthesia edition: Consider chest wall rigidity if you’re doing a case with TCI ‘Remifol’ & you’re suddenly having issues with ventilation coz they may get boluses of Remi. Don’t just assume it’s bronchospasm or inadequate depth of anaesthesia 😌

Simtiva.app is a web-based simulator for TCI/TIVA. It allows the use of Eleveld model (the latest one!) for propofol in "CE targeting", so you may use the suggested scheme on any syringe pump without TCI Eleveld functionality.

Other drugs and models also available for simulation...
