It's worth noting that, at least in PA, most signed 287(g) agreements have not yet been implemented, as the municipality is waiting on training or certification or tech access.

Hi John. My understanding is that deportationdata.org/data/ice.html has the best available data. By my count, there were 1,151 ICE encounters with an "event type" related to 287(g) in July 2025.

I agree that the consensus fears of a US strike igniting a broader war did not pan out, but I'm not sure I would characterize this as a "decisive win," given concerns that U.S. action will push Iran further from negotiations and towards more rapid development of weapons.

PA's Governor does have line-item veto power over individual appropriations in the budget. But I believe this was an instance of the Governor horse trading with the Republicans to get some legislation he liked and to close the books on the Fiscal Code, which had been outstanding for awhile.

It was lumped into a massive "Fiscal Code Bill", www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/billI..., that included some good legislation (e.g., an expansion of the Clean Slate criminal record sealing legislation + the creation of a state-level Indigent Defense Advisory Committee) and some really bad legislation
