Have you progressed past 46? The exact opposite of what you're describing is how I felt about the second half of the game (inexplicably difficult puzzles, or rather, arbitrary sequences of inputs, that can't be reasonably deduced even from careful inspection of the clues and environment)

It's a very strange contrast in pace and tone with the other recent dungeon-related manga I read, Dungeon Meshi

Starts entertaining in S1, goes downhill pretty consistently after that. Even with their very obvious dramatization and cherry-picking of events, the more recent seasons really struggle to generate any sort of suspense or excitement.
