It'd seem that even into the 1980s, at least, In places with, and during Bad Weather, Big guns and Armour were a very real threat to Aircraft Carriers when they were unable to launch, and recover aircraft.

Not sure i could justify replacing it based on last time i looked up the prices of the equivalent available now(!)

My £5 secondhand burr coffee grinder i had to borrow money for has also been a pretty good purchase!

Instant Coffee just tastes wheaty to me.
What i create with an espresso machine is pretty far from what people willingly pay money for, But as much as anything i enjoy, the process.
I spent a fair amount of money on one that uses ground coffee to avoid the plastic issue, and have repaired it....

Is this to replace the Sentinel that was retired fairly recently?

I think something similar already exists... Possibly a Swedish company does one?

And didn't the white tailed Eagle poisoning case involve the local crime commissioner as well as the MP?

Good!

I always felt like it was introduced by the Tories as a job for their mates.

At worst it was attempted politicisation of the Police on the American model.

The scandal with the Wiltshire crime commissioner being ineligible after being elected cost a fortune.

Also speaking with other brainfogged people online, you have to be aware that misreading happens.

Often it's amusingly, but unfortunately there are times when people get upset at what they thought was written. So it requires patience.

encouraging animals to the road probably isn't wise either... leading to your point 1 i suppose.

Actually thinking about it, probably not, as it shows the BBC's focus on USA rather than UK...

Wasn't JCB facing a large tax bill? Or was that settled?

Ironic it was Trump that brought him down.

The problem with Greenbelt is it was set in the 1950s.

The democratisation of cars has facilitated Urban Sprawl outside the greenbelt. Giving rise to commuter towns just beyond the greenbelt.

Doesn't just apply to London.

It was a solution to Urban Sprawl that was defeated by cars.
