I put the R in RDMA.
So what does that argue about Nvidia's business? That they might be building a broadly-applicable product that will find a much bigger market even if their current customers turn out to be just a blip?

Yeah it's not really a good analogy, I don't think California shovel sales were ever very significant in modern terms either

There was a lot of highly concentrated gold and over time, thousands of tons of gold have been mined in California!

I'll just close everything “you've lived with this since 2014, you can make it to 2029 WONTFIX”

Also I think an obvious source of discourse is that everyone who works with LLM coding tools knows this stuff is already super useful, but outside of that world it's easy to continue to think all AI is just a worse-than-useless hallucination generator

Not at all the point but I misread the second post as “hypercrafting” and thought I had a new word to learn in the “hyperobject” / “hyperstition” vein

Yeah I'm no fan of the gamble-fication of everything either. But I also don't think we're well served by more false conspiracy theories around elections

Worth pointing out that the post you're quoting is very misinformed (polymarket makes money on volume no matter who wins - they have no stake in the outcome):
bsky.app/profile/davi...
If I say an event will happen and am offer to bet 60¢, and someone else offers to bet 40¢ that it won’t, then 1 Yes and 1 No share are created and assigned to each bettor. The winner of the bet gets $1 (minus fees, how the market actually makes money) and the loser gets $0.
