She won’t be getting asked back next year with that level of ‘analysis’.

I wonder why they started discussing these plans so soon after the conference season, rather than before
November 19, 2025 at 8:26 AM
I believe the Donald conducted a thorough investigation using a pair of binoculars, two periscopes and some children’s spy glasses.

One final thing - The major difference between Nazi and Boer internment comparisons would presumably be the seizure of assets. Id suspect the Boers gold and assets weren’t taken.

And I think that’s the basis of the comparisons. For me at least.

Oh. And thanks for all the clarifications!
November 18, 2025 at 8:22 AM
Absolutely if it takes this amount of time to work out if a policy can legitimately be compared to that of the Nazis then you’re undoubtedly struggling - particularly as a party on the ‘left’

I’d say the major concern is that this policy, if adopted, becomes the starting point for whoever follows…
November 18, 2025 at 8:19 AM
Fair point.

Should the Nazi Camps almost have a specially designated term - essentially due to post 1941?

When was the term concentration camp first used in a contemporary, real time setting, as opposed to a historical term applied retrospectively?

Does/Should it make any difference?

Genuine Q
November 17, 2025 at 12:08 PM
Or to the Anglo Boer war and South Africa…
November 17, 2025 at 11:13 AM
Shall we just wait for Farage to become PM and push on with the policy. He might be minded to take it to the next level.

Are we allowed to label them as such then or do we have to wait a bit longer?
November 17, 2025 at 10:43 AM
At what point do former army barracks, with fences, topped with barbed wire and guards at entry points restricting access become labelled ‘concentration camps’, that had fences, barbed wire and guards at entry points forbidding access?

Is there an official guide or document that tells us?
November 17, 2025 at 10:40 AM
You should never call a child stupid. You should frame their behaviour or actions as stupid.

The proposals rather than the people should be labelled.

As one of my the professors used to say, you need to clarify your terms more clearly…
November 17, 2025 at 10:20 AM
😂
November 17, 2025 at 9:41 AM
That’s quite a big assumption that the people on the thread ‘know fuck all about’ history…

Thanks.
November 17, 2025 at 9:34 AM
They aren’t Nazis.

They are proposing policies and actions that are very similar and at times identical to some of the policies and actions of the Nazis.
November 17, 2025 at 9:30 AM
Non documented Migrants are set to be placed in former Army barracks. Fenced in. ✅

Valuables confiscated ✅

Forced relocations ✅

I’ve never said they were Nazis. They are proposing to act like, and now planning to use tactics very similar to those employed, by the Nazis.
November 17, 2025 at 9:27 AM
I do wonder if this is part of the plan, ensuring Burnham or Raynor can never become leaders.

They’ll only be 8 non PLP members left in the party to vote in the next leadership election.
November 17, 2025 at 8:53 AM
It’s theft, and utterly absurd.

In practical terms, what will they do with it all? Put it in Ebay? Facebook Marketplace?
November 17, 2025 at 8:51 AM
When you defend Starmer and Mahmoud, I’m assuming you do realise this is exactly what the Nazis did

There’s massive display cabinets of recovered artefacts and valuables in Auschwitz. That’s hard evidence of the outcome of a policy which they are proposing

Saying ‘no’ doesn’t cut it unfortunately
November 17, 2025 at 8:49 AM
I can’t think of any mainstream media outlet or political party that regularly frames migrants as ‘largely vulnerable, traumatised or disadvantaged’

And that is a massive factor that needs to change.

All we hear about is boats. And changing that narrative would help to turn the tide, so to speak.
November 15, 2025 at 2:10 PM
If doctors were that greedy, as you repeat at every opportunity, then I’d suggest they’re also incapable of making sensible, well informed career choices.

There are so many easier, less stressful, less trained positions in late capitalist economy where greed is actively encouraged.

Bloody idiots
November 15, 2025 at 11:28 AM
So now you’d support doctors striking over non pay related issues.

Have you asked your wife about this? She wants to ban doctors from striking apparently.
November 15, 2025 at 11:14 AM
Greed is PFI Hospital contracts where fees are set beyond market rates.

Greed is Big Pharma’s long history of price-gouging in the NHS.

Greed is Hedge Funds controlling great swathes of social care making excessive annual profits whilst providing an inferior service.

That’s the real world.
November 15, 2025 at 9:29 AM
I was clearly mocking you.

Greed is when you set up a company during a pandemic to profit from the provision of faulty PPE to the NHS.

Greed is when you knowingly take a bounce back loan with no intention of repayment.

You are putting doctors in the same category. And I’m in a fantasy world?
November 15, 2025 at 12:39 AM
There’s always enough money for a war though eh. And to bail the banks out.

But never for the people on the front line.
