I hope you’ll consider making mini crosswords a permanent fixture on the site in the future. Puzzmo’s crossword interface is the best I’ve used, and seeing it applied to a bite-size format is a delight. Starting it as an on ramp for crosswords in general is a great idea that I hope expands.

I’m slowly reading House of Leaves for the first time now. I’m about 2/3 of the way through it, and love what it’s doing. I’m glad to know it’s worth a re-read!

Assuming you don't need those entire columns for anything else, then I would imagine that would work. If you're working with a table that has other content above/under it, you might run into issues with hiding content you don't mean to. In that case, I'd recommend doing the values pasting step.

There are probably other ways you could do it, and they might even work better, but this was how I would go about it. Hope it helps! (5 / 5)

When you have all the dates you want, copy column C into your table elsewhere by right-clicking and under "Paste Options," find the option for "Values" (looks like a clipboard with "123"). The downside is that you can't expand the list with auto-fill, but it keeps your original format. (4 / ?)

The second option would be to piece together the individual parts, then combine them. In the screenshot, I put the day name in A2, the date in B2, and this formula in B3:

=CONCAT(A2, ", ", TEXT(B2, "m/d/yyyy"))

The first option is to accept the formatting of "Wednesday, January 1, 2025." To do that, put "1/1/25" in a cell. Right-click that cell and select "Format Cell." Navigate to the option in the screenshot. Click "OK," then grab the handle in the bottom right of the cell and drag down. (2 / ?)

Hi there! Excel needs to be able to parse the date you've written before it will be able to auto-fill the sequence. You've got a couple options here, depending on your priorities! (1 / ?)
