I've been trying to maintain a presence here, but I just don't have the habit of immediately jotting down bits of cleverness before they fade into the background of my mental radio. So, uh, shinies? I make and sell shiny things.
A clear glass cabochon, backpainted with shades of blue, green, and purple with occasional glitter. It was intended to mimic tie-dye, but it was a very early experiment and turned out looking more like a pastel galaxy. The cabochon is held in a be-ringed hand above a wire basket. Two half-masks sitting on a desk in front of a keyboard. The masks each have lots of steel wire swirls and a single sunglass lens each, with one side reaching down to the chin and one side left mostly open except for one line of swirls intended to rest on the cheek to hold the mask in place when worn. The one on the left is the original, the one on the right is on that was commissioned to replicate the first but was never able to be delivered to the person who ordered it, so both are currently looking for a new home. A simple, graceful wedding tiara made of steel wire and white faux pearl beads, with white ribbon ties at the back for working into wedding hair. A small statue made to look a bit like Godzilla, made of steel wire, aluminum wire, and several beach rocks, commissioned by a friend. I thought it looked more like Reptar in the end, but my friend was really pleased with it.

I really appreciate the folks who shared out my post this morning, it really helped me feel a bit less isolated and stuck. I thought I'd share the fidget toy I made with my extra hint of motivation. Pen/baton/staff twirling helps my brain go, so I made one for myself.

I made a thing. I spent way too long making the dirt texture again, even more than usual since the file apparently got corrupted. And then I spent two eons cleaning up the hand photo, because the first try got lost to the file corruption nonsense. But cheesy as it is, I'm happy with it.

Art for the PS1 era dungeon crawler game DarkStone, showing potential player characters like cleric, mage, thief, barbarian, and the like. The size and perspective are quite unsettling if you actually pay attention. Otherwise, it seems reasonably generic but not in an unpleasant way. Which is remarkably fitting for the game, really.

There's something really nice about making visual noise myself. Sure it looks like the late 90s concept of the internet exploding filtered through a vaporwave color palette, and sure it makes my eyes hurt, but I made it. 😂
I'm not even sure how to word this. Faintly defined angular shapes, brighter at the center and darkening to blues and purples outward, with a background of haphazard golden lines of webbing beneath horizontal lines that almost resemble CRT TV scanning lines in bright colors, overlaid by broken rippling rings of rainbowed light that fade blue inward and red outward. It's chaotic and noisy and maybe just a bit blurry, but also bright and maybe a bit cheerful.

A friend was talking about a card game, so I made a green "tabletop" and a blue card back out of something I saved from Deviantart like 12+ years ago while we were talking.
Woodgrain texture colorshifted to green, with beveled edges, intended to be used as a boring but decent contrast sort of background Original image was made by drawing straight lines on graph paper until together they form various curves, filtered and gradiented and colorshifted and resized until achieving this end result of a gray-blue card back of what looks like overlapping mesh circles that fade to white near the edges.

This one started as a gradient, and then another gradient, and then an hour of layered filtering to get a rocky dirt texture, and then I squiggled some clouds. The watery bit was a squiggle that I gradiented and filtered some more.

I've got a habit of keeping my hands busy so that I can pay attention to a conversation, so lately, I've been making low-effort art in GIMP while on voice chat. I figured I should share it here, it's mostly terrible but it makes me smile.

A peculiar mask, made of swirls of steel wire and a single dark sunglass lens. The mask sweeps across the forehead to obscure the right side of the face, leaving the nose and left side of the cheek open save for one line at cheek height that ends in three more spirals below where the left eye would be. It's difficult to see, but the mask is wearable via over-ear hooks. It's been described by some as "Phantom of the Opera, but Art Nouveau Borg".
