You could also write wrapper functions for the DBI functions which open and close the connection, along the lines of this. read_duckdb <- function(q) {
con <-dbConnect(...)
on.exit(dbDisconnect(con))
dbGetQuery(q)
}

Left is a table, right is a figure. Left has headers, information is primarily text/numeric. Right's information is primarily visual - I view it as 2 faceted plots with the headers as titles and the text as captions.

I think "The Haunted Island, a Frog Detective Game" may be possible in that timeframe, though I've not played it myself.

Yeah, I couldn't find a nice explanation for how {systemfonts} works with Google Fonts. I will probably stick with {showtext} for now.

Interesting, thanks!

I like {showtext}. Here's the section from my person cheatsheet (code in alt text).

Figured out a nicer way of doing it, using the existing clip = "off" in coord_cartesian() and multiple new lines before the title, you can use the defaults labs() for title and subtitle without resorting to annotation or label layers.

Apart from the typos, oops! Thanks!

Not quite the right data, and I didn't change the fonts but this is pretty close.

I found the focus on safeguarding in the police station in the first episode oddly touching, and quite true to life. It made me feel a little proud in a strange way - the way a society treats young people is quite revealing of its values.

Love Discworld for comfort listening. Such humanistic story telling.

The Master and Commander series (Aubrey/Maturin) by Patrick O'Brian narrated by Ric Jerrom are excellent listens. It's historical fiction set in the age of sail with all the nautical jargon. Doesn't really fit your genres but it strikes a fantasy/history note for me; it's such a different world.
