I can see that. Lend money for a longer term. Don’t trust inflation. Ask for payment in a stablecoin tied to some commodity. But don’t even stablecoins sometimes fail? You would have to address that possibility in the deal.

But aren’t stablecoins usually pegged to the USD or some other fiat currency? So why use them instead?

But crypto hasn’t been very stable when compared to the USD. Most have escalated in value quickly while a few went completely under. If the idea is to use crypto as an alternative to government or bank controlled currency wouldn’t you want a very stable value?

I must be ignorant about crypto because I just can’t think of any instance excluding a criminal enterprise in which using crypto would be preferred to USD.
