Howl's Moving Castle explores complex themes of love, loyalty, compassion, and sacrifice, as well as social themes such as old age, feminism, and the horrors of war.

I adore this movie with every part of my heart. Gonna get the entire storyboard tattooed on my body someday.

I'm having lunch with them on Thursday. It'll be the first time we've seen each other in almost two years.

I'm nervous, but I have other people in my life that can give me the love and support and affirmation I needed from my parents, so I'll be alright.

It got me thinking, "what would a relationship that feels good look like, even if it's messy and a little silly?"

I don't know if it'll work, or for how long. But I'm gonna try at least for a while.

Both of those are super valid options for many people to protect themselves, but neither felt good to me.

This Fruits Basket scene opened the possibilities for a third option: 3. "You don't gotta button [your shirt] up right. It's good enough even if it's buttoned up wrong."

My parents are transphobic and homophobic and chose religion over me. They can't love me like I need, and I can't do anything about it.

For the longest time, I could only see two options: 1. Put up with it and feel unsafe or 2. Go no contact.

It's basically saying that you can't choose your parents, and you can't change them. If you can accept that and laugh it off, it's good enough.

This is definitely oversimplifying things, and it's not applicable to all parent-child relationships. BUT it resonates deeply with me.

Seriously, I sobbed my eyes out over Violet Evergarden. The depth of emotion is so raw and real I felt it viscerally. Also the art is breathtakingly beautiful. 10 out of 10.

Naruto tells the story of a young ninja who seeks recognition and dreams of becoming the leader of his village.

It's a classic for a reason. However I recently tried to re-watch and couldn't get past all the flashbacks and fillers the second time through.
