Chicano. Urbanist. Boyle Heights LA 🌮by way of PHX 🌵. sun devil. sarcasm tickles my fancy.
I was hardcore rooting for the Blue Jays just so we can have a reprieve in Boyle Heights. Instead the bombs have increased in quantity and magnitude. So weird to live in a place that normalizes this to such an extent.

Really fucking disappointing that she’s bending to the NIMBY/suburban minded politicians aligned with Spencer Pratt of all people instead of the working class who desperately need LA to be a functioning, affordable big city.

What would it mean to hold power ourselves? I don’t think people are cheering the drift away from democracy, moreso cheering necessary tactics against the party who doesn’t hold democratic values.

Our most charismatic and capable leaders on the liberal spectrum are just stuck a generation behind. They are playing by rules for a game that doesn’t exist anymore. I wish they could all get the memo so we can have a fighting chance.

Prop 13 is my cop-out answer for why a major city like ours has such a horrible built environment, even in the nicer areas. But I’m sure there more nuanced takes somewhere.

More importantly I appreciate the appropriate usage of ‘bunk’. We need to bring that back!
