Trump's response to the wildfires in California is, I think, a harbinger of the hateful and clueless way he will be making public pronouncements when he's president, and it scares me. People believe that nincompoop and bow down to him.

I'm getting really frustrated with BlueSky. There's such a need for an alternative to FB, but this doesn't seem to be it. Personally, I can't really express my thoughts in a tweet format, and I'm not finding any posts from kindred spirits. Maybe it will die of neglect...

I mean, really. Bluesky has to increase the word limit for posts. This isn't (or shouldn't be) an alternative Twitter ("X") but an alternative FB, and as such needs to accommodate more room for posts.

1/ I grow cynical about the news cycle. Yes, it's terrible to see videos of the devastation in and around L.A., but in the midst of all this attention, we see nothing about the continued efforts of North Carolinians to recover from the devastation in the western part of the state.
