I don't think your story does this but I'm immediately thinking of the kind of writing where all the characters are called things like Martin Flange.

First, that story is obviously great. But, yes, I think I know what you mean. Is it something about your narrator seeming superior to your characters?

Similarly, people who are the age the algorithm thinks they ought to be having babies get bombarded with maternity/fertility stuff. Which, of course, might be quite upsetting for them for various reasons.

I guess it boils down to the fact that I really don't want to see personalised ads. They often feel intrusive, sometimes downright rude (buy a wig, baldy), and are a route we should never have gone down. By all means try to sell me Weetabix, no harm done, but preying on perceived insecurities? Ugh.

I'm sure a lot of people just smash the 'whatever button'. I'm definitely not saying they shouldn't charge, I don't object to paywalls.

I knew what you meant, though: from South Asia, with lots of musical interludes.

Our theory is that filing dreams are about checking whether remembered people are important, or can be archived. My partner, who is effectively face blind, often doesn't have any idea who most of the people in her dreams are.

I've not seen many but RRR that came out a couple of years ago is certainly NOT BORING and is on Netflix in the UK still, I think. And even though I don't like cricket, I really enjoyed Lagaan. (These might not technically be Bollywood films. I'm not an expert.)

Not so much a memory as a recent discovery for me. Probably via some YouTube playlist or other.
