The Reconstruction era, especially dating from the late 19th and early 20th century was marked by a mythic nostalgia for a South that never existed, disgust for former slaves, a belief in the degeneracy of its internal enemies, violence, “fascist to the core”.
Let's not be confused about the political development of the United States, fascism has been here before in the authoritarian enclaves of the American South.

We are expecting over 5 inches of rain here in the mountains above Springville over less than 3 days. The land is still healing from a series of severe fires over the last few years, with a brand new reconstructed road. It could be a big deal.
