Spending £500m a year on Royalty is obscene, the most expensive Royalty in western world. Now want to spend obscene sums on a useless bridge that most folk will never see or need.

New wind and solar power in the UK costs £41–£55 per megawatt-hour, while new gas power costs £77–£124 per megawatt-hour. Fossil fuels get £9–£12 billion a year in UK subsidies, compared to £3–£7 billion for renewables. So, renewables are both cheaper and less subsidised than fossil fuels.

Reform has accepted major donations from fossil fuel-linked individuals and companies. Over 92% of its funding since 2019 comes from high-polluting sectors. The party seeks oil/gas industry donors and its policies-expanding extraction and scrapping net zero-closely align with fossil fuel interests.
