Muslim, Bangladeshi, Anti-colonialist.
Yes to divine purity. No to man-made freedom.
So an average Muslim reads Surah Al-Fatihah 32 times in a day. Those practicing only obligatory Salah read it 17 times. And those performing additional 4 Rakah of Sunnah before Asr and Isha read it 40 times a day.

All this suggests why it is called Umm Al Kitab.

So, even if it is a Sunnah to say "Bismillah" before everything good, in some cases, it is also preferable not to say.

The prophet wrote "Bismillah" in letters but not in the treaty. It's an example that, if you can do something to benefit the Ummah greatly, leaving some small things is not bad.

1. Surah At-Taubah starts with the word "Disassociation." Starting in the name of Allah would contradict with this word.
2. This verse declares ending a treaty where "Bismillah" was erased. So, when the treaty is ending, "Bismillah" is not said, to remind that day when it was opposed by polytheists.

That chapter is Surah At-Taubah. It's the 9th chapter of Quran and comes after Surah Al-Anfaal.

This Surah starts with the verse:
"Disassociation, from Allah and his messenger, to those with whom you had made a treaty among the polytheists."

There are some reasons why "Bismillah" is not said here.

Among the 114 chapters, there is only one such chapter that doesn't start with "Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim."

But why? What is that chapter? What is the speciality of that chapter?

The extended phrase has two more words. "Ar-Rahman" and "Ar-Rahim".

"Ar-Rahman" means the most gracious.
"Ar-Rahim" means the most merciful.

Their repetition is the reminder of how much mercy Allah has bestowed upon humans by guiding them to the straight path.

The revelation of Quran started with the verse:
"Read, in the name of your Lord, who has created."

How do you respond to this?
To respond, you have to say, "In the name of Allah." When you say this in Arabic, it is read as "Bismillah."

It should be a book that speaks only the truth, free from all doubts, guides to the right path. And the book should be so unique that, none can ever bring another like this.

Searching across faiths, I've seen, only the Quran fulfills all the requirements.

And so, I've no doubt, Islam is the truth.

And finally, how to identify the right one among all the scriptures?

As our Lord is perfect and with no limitations, so his revealed scripture should also be perfect, with no errors, no contradictions, no illogical myths. Our Lord knows our limits, his rules should be feasible in our abilities.

The book will tell us how to pray, how to deal with people, how to be righteous and modest, how to avoid immoral acts, how to be close to our Lord, and what we get in return. Everything.

And the messenger will be our practical book, the human example of everything.

What we have to do now is, Read.

Next step. There is a creator. But how will we know about him? Who will tell us about his commands?

The answer is revelation. A messenger from among us, whom we respect and trust, will get revealed verses of a holy scripture, where our Lord tells us everything we need to know.
February 8, 2026 at 7:27 PM
But everything is so perfectly created and perfectly planned, this suggests there has to be only one creator.

One means one. Not dependent on anyone else. None begets him, he begets none. No father, no son. Only one. There's none like him. Totally unique.

That's the only answer that makes sense.

So let's discuss how to understand a religion.

At first, number of gods. If there were multiple gods they would compete each other. Even the polytheistic faiths talk about a leader of gods. They all would try to be that leader. It would cause a competition and all of us would suffer due to this.
February 8, 2026 at 7:27 PM
Only religion can answer this.

When we keep searching across the chain of causes, it ends only when we go to the conclusion that there is a creator. So, we have a creator. The purpose of our life is to follow his commands.

Even if someone says, I believe God but not religion, he loses his purpose.
February 8, 2026 at 7:27 PM
But what's the cause of our life?

Just like everything has a cause, the creation of this world also has a cause. The creation of sun, moon, planets, stars also has a cause. The creation of every creature has a cause. And so, the creation of humans also has a cause.

But what's that cause?
February 8, 2026 at 7:27 PM
And look at the changes in day and night. The sun is for providing day light, the moon and stars are for vision during night.

And look at the creatures around. Among the animals, some are source of food, some for transporting, some are wild. All of them have a purpose.
February 8, 2026 at 7:27 PM
At first we explain whether a creator exists or not.

Everything in the world has a cause. And everything is so perfectly planned. The earth is made a shelter for us and the sky is made the roof. The rain comes down to provide water and grows crops and trees from which we eat.

How is it so perfect?

The next verse is referencing the science behind the creation of humans from a clot.

It fully aligns with recent scientific discoveries that didn't exist thousand years ago. Anyone who has the knowledge of science cannot remain atheist after reading this. It's a great evidence for the wise ones.
February 7, 2026 at 5:55 PM
Moreover, if you look at the choice of words in the verses, it's said "in the name of your Lord who has created". If a Non-Muslim doesn't know about Allah, he still understands the meaning of Lord. Even the one who doesn't believe in a creator, this verse invites him to learn first.
February 7, 2026 at 5:55 PM
Not finished yet.
The order to read is not just for religious purpose. It's a general message that applies to all humans.

It applies to all ages. In childhood, people learn to speak the language. Even in old ages, people learn about new discoveries that didn't exist before. The learning never ends.
February 7, 2026 at 5:55 PM
This is how the revelation started.
At first "Read". For reading, take the name of your Lord. Know about his mercy, his power and his wisdom. Then learn to worship him, ask help from him and seek guidance to the straight path to become closer to Allah.
February 7, 2026 at 5:55 PM
These are the verses of the first revelation:

1. Read, in the name of your Lord who has created.
2. Created the human from a clot.
3. Read, and your Lord is the most generous.
4. Who taught by the pen.
5. Taught the human that which he didn't know.
