I'm highly skeptical they painted to disguise.

I'm guessing this is reporting error /game of telephone.

They likely used a p8, which is a militarized maritime warfare variant of 737.

But I'm really doubtful they painted to look civilian

I think this is probably bad reporting... A p8 is a maritime warfare derivative of the 737... But unless it was painted to deliberately look like a civilian airliner, I don't think there is anything especially wrong (beyond, of course, the war crime of attacking the boats in the first place)

Correct. Why would he care about the files? DoJ isn't going to release anything incriminating on him. Like c'mon people the deadline was ages ago... They're just not going to do it and there's no one being held accountable.

And Democrats caved. And we're approving appointments. And and and.

Like GOP is at fault. But don't pretend the Democrats in Congress are fighting with everything they have.

Elected democrats aren't even trying to gum up the works of Congress. Shut everything down until he's gone. Reign in the power of the executive.

Anything else is just pointless pacifism.

You're cherry picking one potential factor...

My point was simply that we're measuring sentiment which is best understood as "hope for future prosperity" not "my current economic condition".

3 years ago the reasoning could be different.

One element is certainly: party out of power messaging.

IMO you're not recognizing that these sentiment polls are mainly measuring future expectations. People feel the economy is bad because: layoffs increasing, tariffs beginning to impact, healthcare costs increasing, mega corporations getting richer and more powerful...etc. Not "today's impact on me"
