![it's kinda interesting to consider that probably most people who speak english also come from considerably more conservative societies than what you'd consider mainstream for western countries, and that probably has bearing in the rightwards shift in online culture because algorithm sees [big number] and pushes it to more people to try make it even bigger still

I've read through all the available chapters of Ore ga Watashi ni Naru made / Untill I Become Me and it's been a really interesting read, it takes the basic premise of a gender swap story and runs with the social and psychological ramifications of living as the opposite sex, it's really good

It's extremely depressing that anime went from a more obscure medium to front and center mainstream during my lifetime, but this translated to the medium transitioning from "for fans by fans" to pure exploitative capitalism with us as the captive audience
