Three wise men? Did they import some from outside Alabama?

There is also a continuity issue regarding Leila’s memories of her mother in VI that III makes impossible.

There is no substitute to release order for a first watch, but I have found that Machete order achieves its goal of minimizing the time spent on the prequels on a rewatch.

"Upcharged" content. Grrrr

FYI, this is legal because the license inherent in the purchase of the physical media allows you to make copies solely for your own use. This means you need to keep the media; if you sell it after copying it, that's a violation. Just throw them in a box somewhere as you shouldn't need them again.

Now, when you open Plex on your TV, you will see a streaming style interface showing you all your media. Just select and watch, and enjoy the best picture quality you have seen for a long time (until you start ripping 4K movies, but that's a whole other level).
December 18, 2025 at 2:12 PM
Download a media ripper - I use MakeMKV - and install it on any computer with a BluRay drive. Pop in your movie, set the ripper to pull the movie from it and copy it to the Plex folder on your NAS. And that's it! The movie will now populate in Plex with poster thumbnail and all the IMDB info.

There are a number of media host apps out there. I use Plex so I'll talk about that, but there are others and they are all free to use (they have add-on subscription services but you won't need them). Install Plex on your media computer or directly on the NAS and also on your TV(s).

The NAS can be attached to an always-on computer in your home - an old laptop works great as a dedicated media computer if you have one - or you can connect the NAS directly to your internet gateway/router. You can start small and always add capacity later as your library grows.
December 18, 2025 at 2:12 PM
Now to the equipment: an uncompressed BluRay movie is +/- 30GB, so you can get 30 movies per terabyte of storage capacity. This is the main cost of a home media server, as you will need to buy a "NAS" to store your media files. You only need HDDs as speed is not an issue.

Great movies can be had for $4 on Amazon in the used option. I have bought dozens of these without any issues. So instead of spending $15/month on Netflix, you can buy 3 movies a month for your library; it will grow very quickly.
December 18, 2025 at 2:12 PM
Streaming content - even 4K uncharged content - is so compressed it looks like crap compared to even 1080p uncompressed media. So you can build a library buying used BluRays that you only need to "play" once.

The only way to beat the subscription ripoff model is to buy physical media and make your own "MyFlix". It's a small investment in kit and it's totally legal. It will also look and sound way better.

Obviously there's a vast catalog in this category, but one that is near perfect but often forgotten is "A Bridge Too Far". TAnd that theme tune...
