Agreed. It doesn't help that Nintendo feels like an old man trying to be hip with the kids but constantly late to it.
I think Legends Arceus did the best with how it was like, but Scarlet/Violet were fun games too, really enjoyed the characters and the open world

Honestly I see it both ways.
Some yes are bad friends and just don't want to deal with it.
Sometimes tho, that friend would be in the tough spot on wanting to help, but not knowing what to do at all.
Its a hard thing for both sides tho and I get where you're coming from
