I'm still working on all this myself, I'm no expert. but I used to get some BAD rages over this stuff, to tears even. this is everything I've been doing to curb that & it has been helping. I'm not nearly as bad now thankfully 😅😅

when someone doesn't like an idea. as though they're saying your idea isn't cool/good enough. in reality the job isn't actually to make smth cool. that'll happen anyway. the job is to make the best representation of what the person wants. instead of hearing it as them not liking what you've done

I think w design it adds an extra layer of artistic vulnerability than simply drawing an existing OC, and that makes it easier to take more personally. it's not just what you can do as an artist anymore, but what you as a person think is cool as well, and that part feels like it's being attacked

I try to remind myself that those details may not pop as much for someone who's not as art minded, and that I'm always free to reuse rejected design material myself so it's not like it has to be gone forever. I have to step away from the convo til I've cooled off sometimes too
