When we purchased the property it was in ruin. The creek below was not visible due to grapevine, Virginia creeper and poison ivy. It took me several years cleaning out the vines, overgrowth and invasive plants to improve the view. This is our last Autumn here. I will miss it.

His not too expensive “jewel box”banks in small towns outside of Chicago are a sight to behold. We visited on a sunny day but the lion’s open mouth on the right is a spout for water when it rains. This bank is in Sidney, Ohio.

I left my dog’s outside water bowl filled by mistake overnight and when I went out first thing in the morning I discovered two yellow spotted salamanders assumed it was a swimming pool.

One of the many great reasons to adopt a dog is you take walks even when you have a rough day. Here’s what we saw on our after dinner walk (so lovely but they’ve treated my yard like it’s an “all you can eat buffet” leaving my hostas as leafless stalks)

Honeysuckle, garlic mustard, English ivy and poison ivy are my targeted invasive plants for removal. I have a 2 1/2 acre wooded site that I’ve been working on for 9 years. Glad you are doing this. Here is my companion

This rhododendron flowered last November after unseasonably warm weather, but she didn’t disappoint me this spring!

My pup is that small black spot in the distance.
