In the scheme of, well, everything, I know this is miniscule but Disney World is my happy place and am really bummed that I won't celebrate my 40th there next year due to FL's political stances and concerns re: my safety as a non-binary/trans masc person.

A friend of mine posted on Facebook about one of Trump's plans and someone asked why they cared as it did not impact them directly.
This. This is the problem.
The majority of voters voted for Trump because they thought any negatives would only affect other people.
