Chosen one def gets abused pretty bad. My fav chosen one story goes into the machinery behind what makes them chosen in the first place. Probably why Dune is one of my favorite books. Goes into the political machinations and prophetic astroturfing that put the one in the chosen place.

I am also a big fan of power of friendship and found family. Most of my favorite stories involve these tropes in some way. I have a soft spot in my heart for lonesome characters finding love, acceptance and community.
