Yet another example of us dropping deep and being passive towards the end of the game… then conceding

Sensing a healthy dose of Betteridge’s law in this headline

Can also see Havertz sharing minutes with Odegaard & Rice. Hoping we see better player management in general this season.

I see the Darwin risk as more comparable to Sesko, who also hasn’t fully developed yet. By contrast, Gyokeres is a polished finisher. At the very least, we should expect his output to be a reasonable upgrade on Havertz or Merino.

Darwin is an interesting comparison, his shot volume actually increased when he moved to Liverpool. The main difference is that you could see how raw 21/22-year-old Darwin’s finishing and decision-making were. He’d be tripping over his feet when scoring for Benfica, or fumbling the ball into the net

You can’t get away with it for an entire season. Villa and City away will be a big test.
February 16, 2025 at 3:54 PM
Mid-shot-table is quite crammed. 10 more shots and Arsenal would be 6th. Not too shabby considering injuries to key players & time spent with 10 men.

No thanks would rather make do with what we have. Save funds until the summer then sign elite talent.
January 29, 2025 at 7:22 PM
Allegedly for "running aggressively towards the ref"
January 25, 2025 at 5:16 PM
The only stock falling is Michael Oliver. Embarrasing performance and the whole of the footballing world knows it.
January 25, 2025 at 5:07 PM
He had no choice... oh wait
January 25, 2025 at 4:14 PM
Unless someone exceptional becomes available I’m not sure we should sign anyone. We already have 4/5 OK attackers, none of which look to be stepping up. The last thing we need is another meh on big money. Save it for the summer and sign elite quality.
January 24, 2025 at 5:58 AM
Liverpool finished 5th on 67 points when they had Arsenal level injuries a couple seasons back
January 18, 2025 at 5:29 PM
The delivery from Rice there is outrageous
January 15, 2025 at 8:58 PM
Decent line up. Surprised Martinelli isn’t starting… would assume Spurs will leave lots of space in behind
January 15, 2025 at 6:53 PM
I do agree but assumes there was someone at the right level & price who was available/attainable. Did any top 6 teams sign a forward who would have made the difference for Arsenal?

He lost the mental battle with Estupinan. Would panic and run into instead of taking him on.

Good test of character to see if he can step up in the second half.
January 4, 2025 at 6:31 PM
Who else would you take off? Might stick a bet on
January 1, 2025 at 6:48 PM
Yep January doesn’t offer many quality options, and bedding players into the system takes time. I mean look at Merino, still not fully clicking.

As much as we’d love a shiny new toy, Vieira might just be our best bet right now. He’s certainly effective at breaking open a low block.
December 29, 2024 at 4:04 AM
If we ruled out every referee who’s made a bad call against each team, we’d soon run out of refs. They just need to act with professionalism and keep a low profile imo
December 7, 2024 at 9:39 AM
Agree, though that assumes they’d have trusted Vieira. Seems more like Mikel prefers players he knows can handle the defensive side of things.
December 7, 2024 at 9:16 AM
Is it unfair to overlook their defensive injury crisis, made worse in the 60th minute while chasing a goal? Maybe… but it’s Spurs, so it’s hard to resist.
December 6, 2024 at 7:17 AM
Solid defensively and that ball over the top to Trossard was a great touch of quality.
