the part that's absolutely obliterating me is: if I replace the fragment shader's return line with this, THE PROBLEM VANISHES

I was getting ready to change one of the two branches when I noticed that the problem had already disappeared?

OK, any GPU heads out there...

I'm writing a skybox shader for displaying equirectangular photographs, and getting a seam where it goes from uv.x 1 to 0... but mipmaps are NOT enabled!!! I've even used tex2dlod to ensure that some bug isn't secretly making mipmaps anyway, and it's definitely not.

I've been mucking around with trying to reproduce scenes from the game in VRChat to kill time during a convalescence, and it's amazing how adding the "overexposed and slightly purple" postprocessing instantly takes it from "I guess this is some video game" to "oh hey Deadly Premonition"

I'm stupendously bad at navigating, so I've always wanted versions of classic games that let you zoom way way out and see how the areas actually fit together live while you're playing… it's trickier than it sounds in most games, but Earthbound is a funny case where the entire game is on a single map

Also, I might as well post the video that keeps getting weird mysterious faves on twitter despite no-one being willing to tell me where they keep finding it:

I'm frustrated that I never sorted out the 1-frame lag, maybe I should try again in a different emulator....

Here's a promising one I got decently far on: it puts an overlay on screen where every pixel corresponds to a single line of dialogue in the whole game, and once you've seen that line of dialogue, it permanently lights up. The idea is to find out if there's any rare dialogue you've missed.

ok, i might as well try out video posting with a topic that for whatever reason will still randomly get faves on my old twitter: #Earthbound Lua scripts.

here's a fun one I debuted on Mastodon a while ago....
