I’m curious if this goes anywhere. I do know this: if I buy another car it has to have CarPlay. Sounds weird to start there and then decide on the car but that’s my min req.

Totally agree. Since it can be done and there’s enough pushback from potential buyers mayyyyybe they consider adding it? Although the spent a lot doubling down on this new vertical stack system.

The other thing is that e en if this goes south for the dealer, this mod will exist. These kind of hacks exist for all sorts of things. I remember I had a ford fusion and it was a model right before CarPlay. And there was a mod out there that would do exactly what this does. I chose not to… $$$&

I would think Chevy would come down hard on them if they wanted. More thank likely one of two things will happen: cease and desist or hmm wants to see joe this plays out.

Here’s the problem with that: CarPlay displays are all different in dimensions. There’s no one size fits all. The second issue is that what exactly would be the “frame”? It’s not a physical apple device, it’s a display screen in a car. And every car is different and the “frame” would be different

Yeah I realized the mistake I had made. Be nice if it error trapped it and told me I’m an idiot.

It’s awesome. Oh I accidentally chose a screen shot from car play and it gave an error about png. Figured it had to do with that is was a weird size being that it was CarPlay.

Agreed. Is missing the ability to take written, handwritten or printed recipes to import but there’s an actual custom ChatGPT that will take an image and spit out a paprika file to import. The missing piece.
