Really the only significant complaint i have is that there’s no rival that works as well as Regent, they have a boss that would work for that in 4 but maybe the DLC can redeem him a bit.

ng1-3 all have fighting game devs backing all their mechanics, you feel it most with 1 and you can see it a bit in 2 but the Regent in 3 is where this really shows, the way he’s animated and moves is like a fighting game character

4 feels a lot less like this, but the bosses are consistently better

these games are pretty rare so i think a big part of enjoying them is actively meeting it halfway there, really its a test to how versatile you are and how open you are to other forms of action.

if you go in wanting mario 64 2 with sunshine you’ll probably be disappointed for instance
