That being said, I too have encountered this branch and had to do some awkward dodging. I wish people were more contentious about this kind of thing generally.

They may be restricted due to the regulations around trimming Elms after March 31? There is a process to get a permit outside of the trimming window, but I'm not sure how hard it is to get.

The city was also pretty consistent in saying this was a renewal project, not a bike project.

I have yet to see a name that really works. Bike has it's flaws, but "people on wheeled machines that can travel ~10-35 km/hr" is a distinct user type from cars and pedestrians that doesn't really have good umbrella term.

Just noting that this is a much larger attack on bike lanes in general - it seems like that might be getting missed by people responding to the letter about 132 Avenue specifically.

Lime tried a winter pilot this year, I guess we'll have to wait to see if they do it again.
