Umm... Only one, no idea why. Ring vibrate lose maybe? Normally hand tighten on a towel, didn't today. New canner.

The level of bull is mind-numbing. The Republican Party wasn't trying to pass a budget; they were trying to pass a 7-week CR (continuing resolution).

First one this year. Beeswax paper fire starter (coffee filters with hand plane shavings) worked great. Once I threw a big enough spark off my fire steel.

Not done yet. But ran out of light.

Need to add the eye hooks and jute twine still.

Next batch of wood to cut, the 78 inch ones are ready to oil and wax with my board butter.
May 26, 2025 at 7:15 PM
3 ounces each. Extra went on a small pour. I also drop some of the over pour in the mains before it sets.

Making board butter

All waxed/oiled. Used my 4:1 raw linseed beeswax that I make. Softer than my old 3:1 recipe. Worked good. If you want to know more about the wax ask me.

Epoxy came out good. Ends should be sealed to sit on the ground. I wonder if i.cpuld have done that with wood glue instead. But I like the result.
May 25, 2025 at 10:00 PM
I didn't take pictures of applying the epoxy. But now a 24 hour wait. These should be done by Monday.

Making a mold for the epoxy. Last board for this batch .

Finally got enough wood moved to get to the back wall. And first thing I did, cut the board a 1/16 too short.
May 24, 2025 at 6:38 PM
Cutting a 2x4 like this is slow. But it is what I have / can get access too. My bench has limited space, and my circular saw is unreachable due to all the wood stacked up

5 hours later, turned oven off a half hour ago. Happy with what got filtered out so far.

Going to do one sheet next time. Also modified the frame to sit lower in the pan.
April 27, 2025 at 10:19 PM
See how this works. Wax is still dirty after several trips through the buckets and strainers.
April 27, 2025 at 4:29 PM
The frame is gluing up. Wire will be set up next on it (tomorrow), and then I can start melting beeswax.
