FIRST PHOTO: DHL claiming they were not able to deliver my package.

SECOND PHOTO: My phone. Because I buzzed the delivery person in. So he could deliver my package. And then he didn’t. Even though I was home.

ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER is fantastic. In a weird way I felt it was just a wink, like a blip of time in the lives of these people. But there was some poetic and powerful visual storytelling that seems to impact a lifetime.

You would think that members of the WGA would understand that they’re supposed to turn off their phone and their Apple Watch so they stop getting pinging notifications and bright flashes from their wrist during a movie.

On that note, WAKE UP DEAD MAN is great. I love Rian Johnson.

I hadn’t gone to the movies in maybe two months. So when I found out popcorn and soda were $20 even with my membership I almost screamed. Pretty sure last time I paid 17.

So guess what I’m not getting at the movies anymore.

No. I will not tell you the movie. Just know that I was excited at the premise.

And then was tortured.

Oh my god it’s over praise be the mercies.

At this point I’m finishing this movie out of spite.
November 15, 2025 at 9:21 AM
Can you tell this movie is driving me as insane as the protagonist?

Scientists really ought to study how a 105 minute movie can last 521 days.

Some movies are time capsules. This one, for instance, began when women still had rights.

When I started watching this movie, I still had hair.

SISU is ridiculous. It’s also a blast.

Someone told me there are no more good movies being made. I listed about half a dozen off the top of my head.

I know not everyone is so into film that they’ll discover beyond what massive marketers pitch, but I hope to encourage them to dig deeper.

Did I get tickets to Helloween?

Yes.

Did my girlfriend agree to come with me?

Yes.

Will she probably break up with me once she’s there?

Maybe.

Happy Day of the Dead!

I wanted to go to the movies tonight but ran late. I haven’t gone in weeks (other than screenings, I guess). So if I go tomorrow I really only have one shot. Part of me wants to watch Tron because it’s a big screen experience. I’d even watch it in 3D. But word is not good. So maybe Good Boy?

Fuck today.

Anyway, I also caught @realgdt.bsky.social’s FRANKENSTEIN. It’s great. And he talks so passionately about it.

Man. You ever really really really want to love a film and it turns out to be flat and uninspired?

THE PLAGUE is fantastic. If it’s not up for some awards I’m gonna be surprised.

Helloween on Peacemaker is awesome. Though the realization that Nazis probably love Helloween is not lost on me. And it breaks my heart.
October 22, 2025 at 5:19 AM
“She’d never heard of Helloween” made me laugh so hard.

The reveal halfway through season 2 of PEACEMAKER is illustrative of how much even as audiences we have biases and blind spots.
