both can work but for 2 different reasons basically. for the first one its entirely your fault and you wont have the same experience next run and the other is designed to be pre determined for a more focused yet gripping narrative but you will only get as much experiences as there are story branches

for example for a procedural conversation game. a game where you are an investigator and you have to find out who a killer is through clues and character conversations. it could work without it for a decent thought out narrative experience but then its a predetermined thing intended by the creators.

it depends on the game you are going for, if it doesnt require a procedural conversation mechanic then its not needed

to be fair its contextual based lmao. in this case its some dude who survived the holocaust so his statement works in that context

if you pick a side you are picking a mold to believe in. picking a side means you have chosen to fight the other side.
lets say the context you were in a room with 2 people you love and you were forced kill one of them by an external source for what ever reason for example.
