So happy to report this story on how receptor guanylyl cyclases in AFD neurons regulate heat shock response in C. elegans. We find that among the three gcys, gcy-18 and -23 are the key regulators. Very nice, meticulous work carried out by AbhilashaBatra. #worm www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Guanylyl cyclase signaling in AFD neurons regulates systemic stress resilience in Caenorhabditis elegans
Thermal fluctuations in the environment, particularly high temperatures, pose a major challenge to organisms and require robust mechanisms for survival under heat stress. Although the molecular basis ...

Talked about this work last week at ICTP in Trieste, Italy. Good discussions followed. This mathematical #model of calcium signalling in C. elegans thermosensory #neuron neatly captures experimentally observed response dynamics and the dependence on past temperatures. #worm

We already carried out tracking of C. elegans and their trajectories through our Deep-Worm-Tracker. doi.org/10.1016/j.ap... Github link: github.com/knaticat/Dee...
Stay tuned for more software and tools we're developing to track worms!

How do #neurons decode information from their surroundings? We present a mathematical #model that captures neuronal sensing and adaptation to thermal variations while retaining memory of past temperatures, in the model organism C. elegans. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Neuronal Decoding of Temperature Signals in Caenorhabditis elegans
Neural processing in animals facilitate sensory adaptation by eliciting appropriate responses to changing environmental stimuli. Although sensory adaptation is well recognized, the specific role of in...
